The Guardians Are Looking To Pop Brady Singer, Framber Valdez Returns For Houston, And Aledmys Diaz Owns James Paxton

We're in hell right now, ladies and gentlemen. Look, I have said multiple times I'm just trying to get the hang of this. I may need to try harder. I tried yesterday to go with my gut, but I made the grave mistake of going with road favorites on the run line. The Phillies and Braves both took care of business but didn't cover the 1.5 spread. Anthony Rizzo, much like the rest of the Yankees, had trouble putting the ball in play, let alone homering against one of the worst pitchers in baseball. The Yankees are officially on my shit list. I'm done with them. Get Aaron Judge back, and maybe we'll talk. The only way out of this is through. I have to keep grinding. By the end of this season, I may turn into Nicholson from "The Shining" (All work and no play makes Chris a dull boy), but that's the sacrifice we make for "art." Let's look at today's picks.

Guardians to score first and win (+163) against the Royals

This is a nice one to start with as we hope to get back on track. I'm an AL Central guy. I'm familiar with both of these teams. The Royals are an absolute mess, and Brady Singer, a pitcher I liked coming out of Florida, has been going through it this year. His ERA in the first two innings of ballgames is 6.09, and he's going up against multiple hitters (Jose Ramirez being the prime example) who see him very well. Cleveland's offense does concern me. I've seen them leave a million guys on base this year, but they seem to have Singer's number. I lime the value here at +163.

Astros ML (-124) against the Mariners

Am I missing something here? How are the Astros an underdog at home? I know they got lit up by the Mariners last night, but they got Framber Valdez on the mound at Minute Maid Park. I would've taken them even if they weren't underdogs in this game. I freaking love Framber Valdez. He's my favorite pitcher to watch in baseball right now. It seems like you can almost always pencil him in for seven innings. I've watched the Astros quite a bit over the last few years, and few teams in the sport play as well when they're pissed off as Houston does. Framber will deal. Astros will win.

Aledmys Diaz over 1.5 bases (+132) against the Red Sox

This may be the first (and last time) that I bet on Oakland to do anything positive this season. I shouldn't poke fun; they did just beat my Tigers in a three-game series. I'm trying to play to my strengths, which is difficult because I'm unsure if I have any. I pay a lot of attention to the batter vs pitcher matchup, and in a small sample size, Diaz has had incredible success against Paxton. He is 4 for 8 with three extra-base hits in his career. I try to find outliers, which is good value considering how good he's been against Paxton. Let's hope for a turnaround today.
